Which direction are you running – from or toward something?
Whenever we initiate a project all too often we fail to take the second step.
When building a business or a not for profit we focus on starting it and feeling excited about the outcome. We ignore the four stages needed to make it successful.
All successful organisations have a common feature – momentum.
Still In Business Or Closed Up Shop?
Keeping it is much easier than creating it to begin with.
My story “7 Ways To Secure Success In Your Life” details momentum as the second stage to building a successful business.
During this period of re-structuring I have noticed owners are starting to fall into two groups…
…those still “in business” and those that have mentally closed up shop.
Which group are you in?
For those of us who are of the mindset we are still in business, and we are going to be successful…
…despite the circumstances. We have some adjustments to make to create momentum.
This is achieved by running in one of the two directions in life – from something or toward something.
Most people focus so much on what they say they do not want, that is the momentum they create. Yes, success though not quite as they hoped for.
Very often their words and actions indicate they are running from a sense of lack, or being unworthy etc. rather than toward the success they desire.
They are unable to take action towards their dreams. Yes, they may take the first step, though not the second step.
Why, because the second step means they no longer have one foot anchored in their existing comfort zone. Once the second has been taken that comfort zone has been left behind.
Only then are you moving toward something.
You will only fall if you never take the second step.
Where are you still hanging on to the “old normal”? And what will you do to take your second step?
It does not matter how tiny a step.
Take the step.
Because your next step will only become clear in that very moment. Particularly during this period of Uranus retrograde.
The Second Step Requires Your Intuition
Uranus is the planet of innovation, breakthroughs, and awakenings — and it is here to teach us how to be unique and progressive individuals.
Taking place in the fixed earth sign of Taurus, this is a period of intense inner awakening. To reassess what we value financially, in relationships, and ourselves.
Shortly there is another nudge as Mars also goes retrograde on 9th September.
Mars is on a mission while travelling through its own sign of Aries.
It is activating the sacred masculine within each of us.
The influence of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn on Mars is inviting you to express what you most feel happy and passionate about.
It is in following your joy you use your unique abilities, gifts and skills. That is where you realise the success that is truly possible and momentum created.
Several conversations over this past week have emphasised one of the purposes of this phase is to enhance our intuitive faculties.
To learn to navigate our lives without expectations, instructions and playbooks to guide us. Rather to trust our inner wisdom. Mars’ energy is steering us from within.
Your passion is a creative spiral that unfolds with excitement and delight.
Momentum is created by stripping away stories until each of us is left with the expert we have always been. Stories we repeat about why could not do something are expressing the belief we cannot take that second step.

Your Quiet Voice is Seeking…
When we know the song of our soul, we can make each step of our life an intimate sequence of dance steps that leads to being fulfilled. We have clarity and know the next step to take.
Our souls give us courage to take that step even when it appears challenging or frightening.
In the day-to-day experience of life, we sometimes forget to listen to the quiet voice of our soul. When we live in alignment with that objective – the higher purpose – of our life, its magnetic pull is creating momentum toward our destiny.
In this era of change when only the unexpected is expected, we are unsure where to turn or how to regain a sense of security. We struggle to maintain a semblance of what is known and what has been comfortable.
We seek certainty in a chaotic world where change appears as the only constant.
To weather the existing and coming storms, it is vital to find and connect to that inner part of us that is always present. No matter what happens in the outer world.
Our soul provides a foundation, structure, and support that is unaffected by the drama of events around us. When connected to our soul we can take the second step with a sense of purpose, courage, and confidence.
This comes into play when taking the second step. The first can be thinking about or stating “I am going to start my own business”. The second step is to actually do it – incorporating it, choosing a name etc..
Which is where the creativity of the soul appears. You cannot ask others what to create. To quote David Ogilvy, the marketing genius:
“The trouble with market research is that people don’t think what they feel, they don’t say what they think, and they don’t do what they say.”
You will need courage to step beyond your comfort zone. Into what Erica Jong described as:
“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.”
We are all in the midst of an evolutionary leap.
