Why I Wrote The Seven Secrets to Living in Harmony

Have you felt the joy of harmony in your life?

Or, do you believe it has passed you by?

Perhaps you have enjoyed harmonious moments, though do not seem to be able to maintain its steady state?

Then what do feel about harmony, and is it important in your life?

According to the Cambridge English dictionary, harmony “is the combination of separate but related parts in a way that uses their similarities to bring unity to a painting, drawing, or other art.”

This quote from Napoleon Hill for me provides a clearer understanding:

“One must marry one’s feelings to one’s beliefs and ideas. That is probably the only way to achieve a measure of harmony in one’s life.”

It was trying to understand the dis-harmony exhibited by my body which set me on the journey to initially learn more about my body. Then began the next step of how can I use this to help others.

Why was I seeking to learn the messages my body was sending me, though I was not listening?

Quite simply, the intensity of the pain and dis-comfort I was experiencing.

Yes, I had had sports injuries etc., hardly surprising as I was playing competitive rugby until I was 40. As I sought solutions, I realised the medical system was just treating symptoms and not the root cause.

For me pain management was not an option, it was permanent relief I was seeking.

The Result Of My Journey: The Seven Secrets to Living in Harmony

It was my last bout of intense back pain which began about a month before we left England to live in Portugal, that provided the prompt to write it.

For by then I had linked the emotions of events in my life to bouts of pain and dis-comfort. This 5 minute video provides an overview of my story and conclusions from my journey.

Each of the Seven Secrets is linked to one of our body´s prime seven chakras, or energy centres. Though because I was afraid what others might think, there was no mention of a chakra in the book, nor the fact I am a shaman even though shamanic practices are mentioned!

My premise built on the awareness everything is energy. When it flows freely we enjoy a vibrant healthy life. When there is a blockage pain and dis-comfort are felt.

With the intent of learning how to heal myself I went looking for evidence as to what creates a blockage.

Which led me to stress.

It is not a one-off event, meaning the wear-and-tear does not stop once the stressful situation is over.

Physical Pain and Dis-Comfort Indicates Your Body Wants To Be Free

Rather it is stored in your body’s energy system and has the capability to create deep and debilitating “blocks”.

Which is why stress does far more than just make you feel worn out and run down. It places undue pressure on your immune system. It wears the body down, lowers its natural defences and recovery mechanism.

The full price of stress is paid by all aspects of your entire being — your emotional, mental, physical and spiritual bodies.

The blocks create a lack of harmony between what you are doing and your values and purpose. Often manifesting in a pain or illness, usually as inflammation in a part of your body. This correlates to a block or imbalance in the energy flowing around it.

And Then There Is The Money

A person’s ability to manifest money in their life would be affected significantly, as well as their attitudes towards money. For example, an imbalance in a certain chakra would result in low self confidence, which is crucial when it comes to making decisions and pursuing opportunities.

This will then end up with the person not being able to earn the money to live the life they keep thinking and saying they want.

My blog You Know Your Purpose, Will More Pain Ensure You Reach It?” outlines how this impacts your soul´s purpose and so how your life unfolds.

Blocks can also result in physical symptoms such as headaches, skin rashes and digestive issues to emotional and mental challenges. They include sadness, lack of focus and an inability to be excited by life.

The good news is you can identify the sources of these blocks and so clear them. That way, you will be free of the old paradigms and create space for what you truly desire in your life. The book includes case studies of my work with clients.

In The Seven Secrets I have summarised my understanding of the science which led me to conclude it is our beliefs and the conflicts they create which cause the pain and dis-comfort.

These conflicts reside within each of us. Usually their roots are in something we believe about ourselves, our life and its direction.

The beliefs could have been created in early childhood, another life or inherited through our ancestral lineage.

Why We Focus On Our Past

Almost always we are not aware of these unconscious beliefs, though they direct ALL aspects of your life. Less than 5% of our daily actions, deeds, thoughts and words are from our conscious mind.

One of the sources cited in my book is Bruce Lipton. In a recent Live interview he explains how it is our addiction to our past which keeps us from living a healthy, happy, peaceful life. Rather it is wishing and dreaming which will create harmony in our lives.

Why are we fixated by our past?

Because when humans evolved in the savannas of Africa over the last 5 million years, they were surrounded by a world of severe and immediate danger.

To deal with this constant presence of danger, our brains evolved an ancient piece of the temporal lobe called the amygdala. It scans everything we see and hear for signs of danger. It scans everything we see and hear for signs of danger. And when it senses danger, it puts us on *red alert*.

We record every event and experience so that we know how to react when what is recorded as dangerous re-appears. For this reason we pay 10x more attention to negative news than to positive news.

Which is why I refer to our unconscious mind as our Lifeguard.

However, your Lifeguard influences your thoughts, conversations and feelings from ITS definition of safety. So driving fear and anxiety for many. These emotional states are associated with increased levels of cortisol, commonly known as the “stress hormone,” which often causes inflammation and reduces the immune system’s efficacy.

Interpreting the body’s energy — its signals — is at the core of the most ancient medical practices and beliefs. This includes the traditional medicine of India (Ayurveda), the traditional medicine of China, and the indigenous peoples’ shamanic practices.

Creating Harmony In Our Bodies

These practices work on the premise that our energy always seeks to create health in spite of what we do to ourselves emotionally and physically.

In order to channel and process all that energy, your system is equipped with energy centres known as chakras…

…whilst your body has a multitude of these energy centres, there are seven major ones that are crucial to your creating harmony in your life. Their energy flows in a clockwise direction from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and back again:

7 Chakras

Each centre resonates at a slightly different frequency and each regulates different aspects of your physical and emotional being.

In The Seven Secrets to Living in Harmony I have linked certain beliefs to each of the seven prime energy centres or Secrets.

For example, my lower back pain is one of the symptoms I have identified in Secret #1.

The lower back is the fulcrum around which all movement takes place. Just try reaching with your hand for something if your back is locked!

I have posted a story for each Secret. These will not be in sequential order as I am guided to deliver first Secret #5.

This Answers The Question: “Why do I have trouble speaking up?”

The throat and back of the neck represent more than not speaking; they also have the quality of communicating in the broad sense of listening and understanding. If afraid to speak up and say what you want or feel, you might often suffer from a sore throat or feel like your throat is blocked, causing choking.

There is also a close connection between the throat and the solar plexus – speaking my truth rather than suppressing it!

Among the other symptoms of not speaking up are: ear infections, physical and mental exhaustion, gum difficulties, colic, upper back pain, high blood pressure, mouth ulcers, and hyperactivity.

Even though each chakra regulates very different aspects of our life, they are all interconnected. In fact, view them instead as your body’s energy management system. When they are in harmony and flowing you are in “the zone”. However, if one energy centre becomes blocked, the lack of harmony will impact the others.

This is why so often it is difficult to pinpoint a specific block…

…whilst you know something is wrong, because your energy system is so cohesive, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly where the block is hiding.

My intention in writing The Seven Secrets is you can use it as a guide to identify the sources of these blocks and so clear them. That way, you will be free of the old paradigms and create space for what you truly desire in your life.

In my blog “7 Signs You Need Healing” are signals your body is sending you a message to help you. There is also more on stress and your chakra system.

You might have noticed the number 7 appears regularly. As it does in almost all religions. For it symbolises every positive and valuable matter in existence — e.g. prosperity, life, happiness and renewal. In numerology 7 represents connection to the Creator.
